Symptoms

Stroke is a medical emergency. Call 911 at the first sign of a stroke. With each passing minute, you could be losing more of your brain.

Symptoms come on suddenly and include:

Numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg (usually limited to one side of your body)
Confusion, trouble speaking or understanding
Vision loss in one or both eyes
Trouble walking, dizziness, loss of coordination
Severe headache
