When poor sleep is affecting the quality of your life, you’ll be glad there’s a relaxing and comfortable environment in which to test your sleep, right here at KCMC.

    Medical Services
For some, sleepless nights can signal a body that’s in crisis. That’s when the expert technologists at our newly renovated Sleep Disorder Center can help. Working under the direction of Robert Puchalski, M.D., an experienced otolaryngologist (ENT) with special interest in sleep disorders, our team helps you feel right at home while gathering the information to diagnose your sleeping ailment.

    Polysomnograms
As you sleep, a certified polysomnographer monitors the physics of your body. Small electrodes attached to your body -- like those used in an EKG exam -- provide valuable information about your stages of sleep, body movements, respiratory events, heart rate, snoring and general behavior. After analyzing the results and recommendations of your sleep study, your physician will be better able to pinpoint and prescribe a treatment for any sleep related disorder you may be experiencing.

    Multiple Sleep Latency Tests
Performed the afternoon following a polysomnogram, your daytime sleepiness is measured by studying your sleep patterns across a series of naps. These measurements can help physicians diagnose narcolepsy in people experiencing extreme daytime sleepiness not attributed to sleep apnea.

    Accommodations
    Four private sleep rooms
    Large, comfortable beds
    Private bathrooms
