MEDICAL SERVICES

Rehabilitation Services

PHYSIATRISTS
  • Devin Troyer, M.D.
  • Physical therapists in our inpatient and outpatient physical therapy departments handle the physical/occupational/speech therapy needs for orthopaedic, neurological, wound care, pediatric, and industrial rehab patients.

Patients recovering from an accident, suffering from post-surgical pain, or from the debilitating effects of disease, can return to a productive life again with the help of an experienced team and the rehabilitation services of West Wateree Medical Complex.

Under the direction of physiatrist, Dr. Devin Troyer, physicians, specialists in behavioral medicine, physical, occupational and speech therapists, nurses and others work as a team to assess your needs and prescribe the most effective treatment plan. This team approach employs a comprehensive range of services, and enables us to meet patients’ needs, no matter what kind of rehab is required.

Our work health program can help those injured while on the job. Specially designed equipment allows therapists to help injured workers simulate their work activities to prepare them to lead productive lives once again.

    Physical Therapy
Services for pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients include post surgical care; rehabilitation after accidents, injury, or stroke; sports injuries; back and neck pain; muscle strains and sprains, pain control, and working with children with developmental difficulties.

    Occupational Therapists
Using purposeful activity in the home, occupational therapists can help improve a person's ability to perform daily self-care and routine activities and live as independently as possible. They also treat post surgical patients and help hospice patients enhance activities as they lose previous capabilities.

    Aquatic Therapy
Our new therapeutic pool at West Wateree Medical Complex is an important addition to our comprehensive rehabilitation program. The warm water pool helps patients through rehabilitation with greater comfort and less stress on tender joints and muscles. Our certified staff assists patients in their recovery from orthopaedic injuries or surgeries and also helps sufferers of osteoperosis and arthritis with water-based exercise.

    Speech Therapy
Speech therapists assess and treat patients to improve their communication, cognition, and swallowing rehabilitation related to injury or trauma.
