  • Our round-the-clock emergency care is physician staffed. The KCMC Emergency Department is part of the countywide emergency medical services system that includes a base station in Camden and three satellite units strategically located in Bethune, Lugoff, and on U.S. Highway 521 for quick response.

KCMC EMS units strive to have two paramedics on the scene of every emergency. While 80 percent of KCMC EMS staff are certified to the level of paramedic (a number four times the national average), paramedics may be assisted by basic or intermediate technicians. Everyone on the team is ACLS, PALS and trauma certified.
