Bone Densitometry
Bone densitometry is used to determine osteoporosis in post-menopausal women. The bone densitometer will measure your bone mineral density (BMD), comparing your measurements to a reference population based on your age, weight, sex, and ethnic background. This information will help your physician make a diagnosis and assess your bone status and fracture risk. Bone densitometry services at KCMC are provided by a contracted mobile service. Appointments are made for bone densitometry on Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
