History
With a rich history dating back to 1773, residents of Kershaw County live with the past every day in Kershaw County. There are more than 60 historic sites listed on the National Register, a Revolutionary War Site, thriving antiques district and the Camden Archives and Museum, where archives from the early Indians of South Carolina, the Revolutionary War or Civil War period are on display.
The Arts
With a great emphasis here on education and the arts, the fine arts in Camden and Kershaw County receive strong support from our businesses and residents. A variety of events, receptions and classes here rival those of any large community. Each April brings a weekend celebration featuring original arts and crafts from award-winning artisans across the southeast.

Equine Activities
Camden and Kershaw County are perhaps best known for their place in the exciting world of steeplechase horse racing. Other equine activities including horse shows and polo games are popular year-round.
