KCMC Benefits
Kershaw County Medical Center offers our active, full-time, regular employees a choice of two different providers for their healthcare coverage. In addition, we offer the following benefits:
Employee Assistance Plan
A confidential service for employees and their dependents featuring counselors that assist with problem identification and assessment and/or referrals to appropriate community resources for personal problems.
KCMC Hospital Sponsored 403(b) Plan
Employees can defer up to $15,000, with the hospital matching 100 percent of employee contributions up to the first 4 percent of wages deferred.
Life Insurance
After completion of the 90-day probationary period, full-time hourly and salaried employees are provided coverage equal to one (1) times their annual base salary in term life insurance. Employees holding executive positions are provided coverage equal to two (2) times their annual base salary in term life insurance.
Supplemental Life Insurance
Employees may choose additional coverage amounts of $25,000, $50,000, and $100,000 at low group rates, and apply for an additional $20,000 term life insurance for his or her spouse and $10,000 term life insurance for each child.
Short and Long-term Disability
Short-term disability pays 50% of weekly earnings up to $2,500 per week. There is a seven day elimination period for illness or injury. The long-term disability plan pays 60% of monthly earnings up to a maximum benefit of $9,000 per month.
Paid Time Off
Hourly and salaried employees accrue Paid Time Off (PTO) hours based upon agreed hours every two weeks. PTO can be used for needed time off.
Flexible Spending Account
Full-time employees can deduct up to $2,500 pre-tax dollars to pay for unreimbursed medical expenses and up to $5,000 pre-tax dollars to pay for dependent day care expenses.
Tuition Reimbursement
KCMC will reimburse actual course tuition and lab fee costs for approved courses after the employee has completed one year of service.
Courtesy Discount
After all applicable insurance benefits have been determined or paid, employees will receive discounts of 10 to 100 percent of the total bill, depending on the services and the type of coverage.
Group Banking
Employees who use Wachovia Bank for direct deposit will receive free checking with no minimum balance required. Additional discounts and banking services are also available.
